The Department of Marine Resources will hold a public hearing on Chapter 42 Striped Bass on March 3, 2025 at 5:00 pm in DMR’s Conference Room 118, Marquardt Building, 32 Blossom Lane, Augusta ME, and remotely via Microsoft Teams.
The Arundel Yacht Club (AYC, 51 Ocean Avenue), Kennebunk River Club (KRC, 115 Ocean Avenue), Kennebunkport Marina (KM, 67 Ocean Avenue), and Yachtsman Marina (YM, 57 Ocean Avenue) propose to conduct maintenance dredging of their waterfront infrastructure, including in and around boat slips, to provide adequate depth for navigation and berthing at their marinas in the Kennebunk River in Kennebunkport, Maine. The proposed dredging will remove approximately 8,031 cubic yards (cy) of silty material from the AYC, 3,675 cy from KM, 8,935 cy from KRC, and 6,400 cy from YM.

As I am sure you know, I have publicly stated that Maine will not initiate an increase of the lobster gauge this summer. Based on the overwhelming comments from industry, and with the support of the Governor, I informed the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's (ASMFC) Lobster Management Board of Maine’s position.
Jonesport, Maine – Due to weather, the demonstration and informal discussion for area fishermen and the public focusing on the use of alternative lobster fishing gear scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 1-5 pm in Jonesport will instead be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 1-5 pm.
