On Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 from 1:00PM - 3:00PM at the Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick the DMR Nearshore Program will be holding a New Meadows Lakes Stakeholder Meeting to discuss the results of the DMR’s New Meadows Lakes Quahog Surveys from 2013 through 2023. Manomet will also present on their recent blue crab trapping efforts in the New Meadows Lakes. There will be a short Q & A after each presentation, followed by an open discussion in the second half of the meeting.

The next Lobster Zone D Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024 at 6:00 PM. This meeting will be held In-Person at the Rockland Ferry Terminal located at 517A Main Street, Rockland.
The Department of Marine Resources, in cooperation with the Gulf of Maine Lobster Foundation, seeks four industry participants for the Regional Ventless Trap Program through a competitive bid process. This is an opportunity to participate in a cooperative research project between industry and scientists from Maine through Rhode Island.

Augusta – The Land for Maine’s Future (LMF) Board and the Maine Department of Marine Resources are seeking proposals for Working Waterfront Access Protection Program (WWAPP) projects. The Board will make awards from funds approved by Governor Janet Mills and the State Legislature in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget.

The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) is holding a public hearing on the standard lease proposal listed below.
Tenants Harbor - The Maine Marine Patrol along with members of the St. George Fire Department, the U.S. Coast Guard and local good Samaritans rescued an individual yesterday whose small skiff had overturned near Northern Island, which is located near the mouth of Tenants Harbor. After entering the water, the sole occupant of the skiff was able to swim ashore on the island.
