Maine's saltwater for-hire fleet consists of two types of boats, Charter and Head boats. Charter boats carry 6 or fewer passengers while Head boats carry 7 or more passengers. The table below lists Maine's saltwater for-hire fleet, and is searchable, and sortable by any column.
You may wish to search for a boat by county or port. A boat will appear more than once on the list if it will fish from more than one county. You can also search for a particular species of fish you would like to catch, a particular boat, captain, or any other text in the table.
Starting in the late spring of 2023, Maine's saltwater for-hire fleet listings will no longer be included here but will instead be located on a website hosted by the Maine Office of Tourism (MOT). The new location of these website listings will be part of a program to incorporate guided saltwater fishing opportunities into Maine's tourism campaign.
