What is IFTA?

The International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) is an agreement between 48 States and 10 Canadian Provinces to collect tax for each jurisdiction based on fuel consumed or road use in member jurisdictions. Licensees file a tax return with a base jurisdiction (a state or province) rather than filing separate returns with each state and/or province that an IFTA Licensed vehicle traveled in.
