Special election set for June 9 to fill House District 29 seat

Seat vacant following January 10 death of State Representative Kathy Javner 

AUGUSTA, MAINE – Governor Janet Mills and Secretary of State Shenna Bellows signed a proclamation announcing a special election for the Maine House District 29 seat will be held on June 9, 2026. The Special Election will correspond with the 2026 Primary Election.

This House seat was previously held by State Representative Kathy Javner, who died on January 10.

Absentee voting underway for Special Election to fill House District 94 seat

AUGUSTA, MAINE – No-excuse absentee voting starts today for the February 24, 2026, Special Election for House District 94. Voters can request an absentee ballot online, by phone and may also vote in person when the Lewiston city clerk’s office is open.
