Effective December 1, 2013, (with violations occurring on that date or after) the Secretary of State may reinstate the driving privileges of a person convicted of an intoxicant-related offense if that person satisfies all other conditions for license reinstatement and installs an approved ignition interlock device.
Installation of the device is voluntary for early restoration.
There may be other factors that impact your intoxicant related event. If other conditions exist, you should contact the main office at 207-624-9000, ext. 52104 for more information specific to your case.
An administrative suspension is action taken by the Secretary of State separate and apart from any court action. These driver's license sanctions may be imposed much earlier than a court suspension. In some cases, they may be imposed in addition to criminal penalties and may appear on your driving record.
A license issued to a person younger than 18 is an intermediate license for 270 days. An intermediate license includes several restrictions on operation.
