Maine 2023 Commercial Fisheries Value Increases by More than $25 Million

Augusta – 2023 was another strong year for Maine commercial fishermen who earned $611,277,692 at the dock, which was an increase of more than $25 million over 2022, according to preliminary data released by the Maine Department of Marine Resources (DMR).

 “The Maine seafood industry continues to be a powerful economic engine for our state,” said Governor Janet Mills. “The dedication to sustainability and premium quality by our fishermen, aquaculturists and dealers is a source of tremendous pride for everyone who calls Maine home.”

The Commercial Fishing Safety Councill will meet during the Fishermen's Forum in the golf club at the Samoset Resort in Rockport on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
