Message from DMR Commissioner to Lobstermen: Move Gear from Jeffreys Ledge to Avoid Entanglement Potential

Seventy-five endangered North Atlantic right whales have been seen this week just off the western edge of Jeffreys Ledge

I am strongly urging any lobster fisherman with gear in the vicinity of the right whales on Jeffreys Ledge to move their gear to another area until surveys indicate that the whales have moved on.

The Lobster Zone G Council will meet on March 10th, 2025 at 5:00 PM.  This meeting will be held in-Person at the Kennebunkport Fire Station, 32 North Street, Kennebunkport.

The Lobster Advisory Council will meet on February 10th, 2025, from 4:00 PM. to 6:00 PM. This meeting will be held in-Person at the Department of Marine Resources at 32 Blossom Lane in room 118 of the Marquardt Building.

Public Notice of Federal Consistency Review-Indian Health Service Residential Sanitation Facilities (Project 24-H76)

Indian Health Service (IHS) proposes to provide water and/or sewer (W&S) services for eligible homes belonging to Native Americans within the service areas of the five Maine Tribes: Mi’kmaq Nation, Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, Passamaquoddy Tribe – Indian Township, Passamaquoddy Tribe – Pleasant Point, and Penobscot Indian Nation. W&S services may include on-site potable water well drilling and development or the installation of septic tank and subsurface drainfields. However, some homes may be connected to community water and/or wastewater systems.
