SGT John Ryan, attended Bowdoin College under a WWII army program (Graduated after the war), and served in the Pacific Theater as a central fire control gunner on a B-29 that was shot down over Japan in April, 1945. He was held as a prisoner of war under bad conditions until the end of the war.
I am proud to know a true Green Beret who served and sacrificed for his Country, the U.S.A.,in Vietnam, teaching them the ways of war.
My Dad served in the U.S. Army during World War II from February 23, 1943 to April 24, 1946 as a PFC in the 464th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Auto-Weapons Battalion during the China-Burma-India Campaign. To my Dad, my Hero I miss you and love you - you are always in my heart. Thank you, Dad for your Military Service and Sacrifice for our freedoms. God Bless You.
John died when his plane disappeared when out on patrol. He was a radio man/gunner.
My father served in CU CHI, South Vientnam from June, 1969 to June, 1970. He is, and forever will be, my hero.
To the strongest Man I know. You Served two tours in Vietnam and continued in civil service for our country, even though you were never thanked . You taught me to always be honest and never to look down on anyone.You wanted me to be a good person and walk the talk. You deserved to be honored and I never want you to be forgotten Daddy ! Mom ,John , Alexandra and I miss your laugh;and love and think about you every day even though the world keeps going without you.I hope in this small way you will finally be recognized for your dedication and service to our country and your family.

I am honored to send this tribute to my dad, who passed away almost 9 years ago. No excuse of course, but I grew up in the generation almost untouched by war, so I never truly appreciated his sacrafice to this country until it was too late to tell him. I now try not to miss any chance to tell our servive men and women how grateful I am. So to my dad and all others, I thank you, pray for you, and honor you. God's grace.
John Irish,(1724-?), son of James, was a soldier in the expeditionary forces that captured Louisburg from the French in 1745 and was one of those who received a grant of land in Pearstown, for services in that campaign. He was asoldier in the War of the Revolution in Capt. Wentworth Stuart's Co.
You committed more to our country than I think you will ever be able to comprehend. You ARE RESILIENT, KIND, and LOVING!!! All you want from the world is compassion, understanding. Barely reaching the surface more often than not. Despite all of that, with the added fact you sacrificed yourself, more importantly your mental health, you REMAIN 10 toes down in simply wanting people from all walks of life to have a piece of the pie.
