For each educator license renewal 16 hours of continuing education are required.
Please feel free to submit, prior to completion, any workshop, conference, or virtual training, that you feel would enhance your driver education instruction for review. Below is a list of approved continued education options.

How to Approach Disabilities in Driver Education: 4 hours
Please find below, a link that will bring you to two courses, "Reaching Students with Disabilities" and "Driver Wellness". Each course is approved for 4 hours of continued education. Please follow the process below to complete this training.
- Go to http://drivingprofessionalsgroup.com
- Click on Blue "Start Now" button in middle of page or the courses button at the top right.
- Select the course you want to take (“How to Approach Disabilities in Driver Education,” “Wellness Course,” or “Back to Basics: Skills for Classroom Success”).
- Select the courses that are labeled "Maine."
If you choose to complete any of these continued education options, please print the certificate at the end of each training course. You will need to submit the certificate(s) to our office as proof of completion, to have the continued education hours credited to your instructor license. You may submit them via email to Driver.Education@Maine.gov.
