Dear License Holder,
A recent amendment to DMR’s Chapter 8 (Landings Program) regulations modified the reporting requirements of the lobster fishery to require those harvesters holding a commercial lobster license to submit monthly trip-level catch reports during the months you hold an active lobster license starting January 1, 2023. Reporting must be done using an approved electronic reporting method. Reports for the prior month are due by the 10th of the following month.
Finally, some good news for Maine’s lobster industry.
Below is a joint press release issued today by the Maine delegation and Governor Mills on a regulatory pause for Maine's lobster industry in the omnibus appropriations bill that is expected to pass this week. We will continue to provide updates as this issue progresses.
