As many of you know, a meeting was held last night in Kennebunk for federally permitted lobstermen in Zones F and G who fish trap gear near Jeffreys Basin.
During the meeting a gentleman’s agreement was reached amongst the majority of those in attendance that included temporarily removing the northeast end line and keeping the southwest end line within the box identified in my communication on Friday January 24th. The goal of this opportunity is mitigating risk to Right Whales in the area.
Please communicate with fellow fishermen to avoid gear conflicts. If you have questions, please talk to your local Marine Patrol Officer.
