Scarborough - The Maine Marine Patrol recovered the body of 46-year-old Hudson, New Hampshire resident Greg Blute from the mouth of the Nonesuch River in Scarborough this morning.
At approximately 7 a.m. Mr. Blute’s body was discovered in the water by a fisherman who notified the Scarborough Police Department.
Maine Marine Patrol Officers Lexis Elston and Kenneth Conley, and Sergeant Matthew Sinclair responded along with Scarborough Police and Fire Department personnel.
Mr. Blute’s body was recovered at 9 a.m. approximately 500 yards from shore and has been transported to the Maine Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy.
A sit-on-top style kayak belonging to Mr. Blute was also recovered. Mr. Blute was wearing a life jacket.
An investigation will be conducted jointly by Marine Patrol and Scarborough Police Department.
