Chebeague Island - The Maine Marine Patrol recovered the body of an unidentified male from Casco Bay today at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Marine Patrol was notified by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 9:18 a.m. this morning of a body in the water approximately 100 yards from the end of Indian Point Road on Chebeague Island.
According to Marine Patrol, the body was discovered by a recreational fisherman who notified authorities.
Marine Patrol Sergeant Matthew Sinclair, Specialist Kenneth Conley, and Officers Derek Ridgway and Alex Hebert took part in the recovery. Also participating were the Falmouth Police Department, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, and Harbor Masters from Falmouth and Yarmouth.
Marine Patrol has transported the body to a local funeral home, and it has been transferred to the Office of Medical Examiner in Augusta for confirmation of identification.
