The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) is holding public hearings on the two standard lease proposals listed below. The hearings will be held in-person. Please carefully review the schedule of proceedings as there are important deadlines regarding participation.
Proposal 1:
Applicant Name: Dodge Cove Marine Farm
Culture Type: Suspended Culture of Shellfish
Location: Damariscotta River, Newcastle
Acreage and Term Requested: 12.26 acres for 20 years
Proposal 2:
Applicant Name: Maine Oyster, Inc.
Culture Type: Bottom Culture of Shellfish
Location: Upper Sheepscot River, Newcastle
Acreage and Term Requested: 10 acres for 20 years

The hearing for proposal 1 (Dodge Cove Marine Farm) will begin at 11:00 am, and the hearing for proposal 2 (Maine Oyster, Inc.) will begin at 3:00 pm.
If the hearing(s) listed above is postponed or continued, it will be held on August 24, 2023, at the same time, location, and format. Notice of a postponement or a continuance will be posted on DMR’s website.
Each hearing will be conducted in accordance with the adjudicatory proceeding provisions of the Maine Administrative Procedure Act (5 M.R.S.A., ch. 375, subchapter 4). Any interested person may attend the hearing(s) and registered participants may ask questions of the parties or testify about the application(s).
