1/8 | WELLS | Christopher Spampinato, 39, died after being set on fire while he slept. His wife, Kimberly Spampinato,42, is charged with murder. She pleads guilty later in the year and is sentenced to life in prison. DOMESTIC
2/20 | BETHEL | Scott Libby, 25, is beaten and strangled to death. A former employee, Agostino Samson, 23, is charged with murder but later acquitted by a jury.
4/16 | WARREN | Inmate Sheldon Weinstein, 64, beaten to death at the Maine State Prison.
4/18 | SOUTH PORTLAND | Fred Wilson, 50, is shot to death inside his home by a friend, Bruce Lavallee-Davidson, 50, who is later indicted for manslaughter.
4/19 | WALDOBORO | Rachel Grindal, 27, is stabbed to death in her vehicle after interrupting a burglary. Another woman is also stabbed, but survives. Charged with murder are Earl Bieler, 24, and Corinna Durkee, 42.
4/23 | LIMESTONE | Joselyn Jones, 3 months old, dies from head injuries. Her father, Nicklas Jones, 17, is charged with manslaughter. DOMESTIC
4/25 | ACTON | Robert Morrill, 55, is shot to death in front of his house. His 22 year old son, Ross Morrill, is charged with murder. DOMESTIC
4/28 | WESTBROOK | Belinda Taylor, 43, is stabbed to death inside her home by her husband, Kenneth Taylor, 45, who then stabs and kills himself. MURDER SUICIDE- DOMESTIC
5/12 | PORTLAND | Zoe Sarnacki, 18, strangled inside apartment and them set afire, Chad Gurney, 27, is charged with murder and arson DOMESTIC
6/29 | LEBANON | Frances Moulton, 25, positively identified. Her body was discovered in a well the week before and she had disappeared and was killed in July of 2006.
6/30 | BIDDEFORD | Gage Greene, 19, and Derek Greene, 21, shot to death along South Street. Rory Holland, 55, is charged with two counts of murder. DOUBLE HOMICIDE
8/3 | RUMFORD | Roger Day, 48, and Victor Sheldon, 22, shot to death inside Day's home. Eric Hamel, 19, and Richard Moulton, 20, are charged with two counts of murder each. DOUBLE HOMICIDE
8/8 | BANGOR | Holly Boutilier, 19, stabbed to death in a shack along the Penobscot River. Two men are charged with murder -- Colin Koehler, 34, and Justin Ptaszynski, 27.
8/19 | GORHAM | Michael Devine, 12, is killed by his mother, Karen Devine, 41, when she sets their vehicle on fire in a gravel pit. MURDER-SUICIDE. DOMESTIC
8/24 MONMOUTH Janice McDonald, 80, stabbed to death, inside her home. Her sqn, Kenneth McDonald, 43, is charged with murder. DOIVIESTIC
10/26 | NEWPORT | Perley Goodrich Sr., 76, is shot to death inside his home. His son, Perley
· Goodrich Jr, 45, is charged with murder following a four day manhunt. DOMESTIC
10/28 | PORTLAND | Roland Villacci, 49, is rundown by vehicle and dies later at the hospital. Charged with murder is Timothy Antone, 42.
10/31 | ANSON | Everett Cameron, 60, shot to death in his pickup truck, parked near his home.
11/11 | PORTLAND | Marion Shea,.47, found stabbed to death inside her boyfriend's apartment.
11/16 | OLD ORCHARD BEACH | Stacey Savoy, 50, is shot and killed inside her home by her husband, Bruce Savoy, 55, who shots and kills himself. MURDER-SUICIDE - DOMESTIC
11/28 | WEBSTER | Michael and Valerie Miller are killed inside their home.
OF THE 24 HOMICIDES SO FAR THIS YEAR, TEN ARE DOMESTIC. ALSO BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DETERMINED THAT THE MOULTON CASE WAS A HOMICIDE UNTIL HER BODY WAS FOUND IN JUNE THE CASE WILL BE ADDED TO THIS YEAR'S HOMICIDE LIST EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS KILLED IN 2006.
