Warranty Seals

Warranty seals are official stickers that must be affixed in any manufactured or modular home installed in the state of Maine. Generally, these seals are attached inside a kitchen cabinet. They certify that the home was constructed and installed in compliance with state safety regulations and entitle the homebuyer to warranty protections.

Each installed home must contain separate seals for its construction (attached by the manufacturer) and its installation (attached by the installer, mechanic, or dealer, depending on who is responsible for installation). In the case of state-certified modular homes, the required seal is known as a seal of approval, which must be affixed by the manufacturer of the modular home component.

It is prohibited to sell or install manufactured homes in Maine without the appropriate seals.

Warranty seals and seals of approval can be requested from the State using the forms below. Please note, a fee will apply for each seal issued.

Application forms for warranty seals and seals of approval should be emailed to Helen Tutwiler at helen.m.tutwiler@maine.gov.
