The State Resilience Office (SRO) works to grow the ability of communities and the state to prepare for and thrive within a changing climate. We partner with communities, state agencies, and service provider organizations to improve access to information about flooding and other risks, increase capacity for community planning and projects, and enable local and regional initiatives that prepare and protect communities against extreme weather.
SRO Programs
Community Resilience Partnership
The Community Resilience Partnership provides grants and technical assistance to communities to identify and address local priorities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, transition to clean energy, and become more resilient to climate effects.
Maine Floodplain Management Program
The Floodplain Management Program provides technical assistance and training related to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), FEMA flood hazard maps, local floodplain management ordinance requirements and flood insurance.
