Courses for New Certification in Erosion Control Practices
How to Get Certified/Recertified/Reinstated in Erosion Control Practices
In order to qualify for Maine DEP Certification in Erosion Control Practices, completion of the 8-hour course “Basic & Advanced Erosion Control Practices” is required. This course is available online in a modular course format, or in-person in a single full day class (when available--hosted by local organizations). The topics covered in our in-person 8-hour training course can be completed online, at your own pace in approximately 1-hour increments (#NPS2150). Courses are offer through our partner JETCC.
In-person courses may be offered at locations throughout the state or virtually by webinar and are organized by local partners. Fees may apply. Please register for the following programs through the contact listed.
These courses meet the classroom requirements for, and qualifies individuals to apply for New Certifications in Erosion Control Practices.
Individuals taking this course (in-person) for Continuing Education Credit will receive 6 credit hours but must remain for the entire course (no partial credit will be given).
Courses for Continuing Education Credits for Recertification & Reinstatement
How to Get Certified/Recertified/Reinstated in Erosion Control Practices
To maintain certification, Continuing Education Credits are required. These Continuing Education Credits vary by course and each Continuing Education Hour completed will afford the DEP-Certified individuals one (1) year of additional certification, up to a maximum of eight (8) years. Recertification and Reinstatement requirements can be found below.

Online courses are available anytime for credit. See the table below for training modules offered. Only online classes linked from the table will count for credit. Additionally, there is a $20 per credit hour fee to be paid to NEIWPCC-JETCC following completion in order for credits to be applied.
