Federally Required 2026-2028 Off-Cycle Revalidation Plan

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) received a letter from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requesting that Maine develop and submit a comprehensive two-year provider revalidation strategy, with priority given to revalidating high-risk providers. All states received similar letters. CMS required the Department to submit a detailed implementation plan for a two-year revalidation strategy by close of business June 5, 2026.
