XDEA License Requirement for Buprenorphine Claims Removed
On December 29, 2022, Congress eliminated the “DATA-Waiver Program” with the signing of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 (the Act), improving access to buprenorphine for those in need.
In a response to the change as part of the Act, MaineCare eliminated the requirement of an X-DEA number to process pharmacy claims for buprenorphine products. Change Healthcare removed the edits related to the data waiver requirements, effective January 27, 2023.
