RESCHEDULED: Draft Rate Model Public Review and Comment for Providers of Section 97, Private Non-Medical Institutions (PNMI), Appendix D, Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) Services

In June of 2023, MaineCare provided notice that it had initiated a rate determination for Section 97, PNMI Appendix D, TFC Services. The Office of Child and Family Services in collaboration with the Office of MaineCare Services has revised the service model to inform the development of the draft rates. This is consistent with the Department’s Children’s Behavioral Health Services plan, for two distinct TFC models, both of which the Department plans to make available as MaineCare services in the future. This message outlines the next steps in the process related to draft rate models.  

PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT     

MaineCare has rescheduled its online public meeting to present recommended draft rate models with rationale. The Department will host the meeting on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 1:00-2:30 PM. The Department will post draft rate models online, accept written comments through September 29, 2023, and will respond in writing to those comments with an explanation of whether and how the feedback was incorporated into the final rate determination.     

As providers and interested stakeholders, your feedback is important during the rate determination process. We encourage you to participate in these meetings as we discuss the draft rate model recommendations and collect feedback on these important changes.
