Monkeypox Diagnostic Testing and Vaccines Update and Information, CR 112045
On August 5, 2022, the Office of MaineCare Services (OMS) released a bulletin regarding planned MaineCare coverage of Monkeypox diagnostic testing and vaccines. This message is an update to that August 5th message.
The American Medical Association (AMA) issued a July 26, 2022, press release identifying the CPT codes related to Monkeypox diagnostic testing and vaccination, but they have not released specific guidance regarding Monkeypox vaccine administration CPT codes. Please use the applicable vaccine administration codes: 90460, 90461, 90471 or 90472 on your claims.
Currently, there is no update on the Monkeypox Diagnostic Testing.OMS will be updating our system to include this code and ask that all claims be held until the update is complete.
