MaineCare Rate Reform Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) Meeting and Public Stakeholder Forum on Draft Rate Determination Schedule

P.L. 2022, Ch.639 codifies into statute the principles and processes by which MaineCare sets its rates. Pursuant to Ch. 639, the Department must: 

1. Develops an annual rate determination schedule of the services for which it will initiate and/or continue a rate determination process, in consultation with the MaineCare Rate Reform Expert Technical Advisory Panel (TAP); and  

2. Provides an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the schedule and makes available a summary of these comments on its publicly accessible website. 

The TAP will have its inaugural meeting on October 13, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. via Zoom to consult with the Department regarding its draft rate determination schedule. This meeting is open to the public. There will be a limited period of time at the end of the meeting for public comment. The Department encourages stakeholders who wish to share more substantive or lengthy comments to do so in the public forum noted below. 

After the Department incorporates feedback from its consultation with the TAP, the Department will post the draft rate determination schedule on its website. Providers and other interested parties will then have the opportunity to comment during a public forum on October 26, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. via Zoom and to submit written comments. A notice will be sent once the draft rate determination schedule has been posted, with a link to the schedule, instructions, and the deadline for submitting written comments.
