Implementation of ​Rates for Certain Medicare Covered Family Planning Services and Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARCs): Sections 14, 30, 31, 45, 90 & 103

In January the Department communicated that the implementation of final rates for certain Medicare covered family planning services and LARCs would be implemented in early spring of 2025. Due to unforeseen systems constraints and challenges, the Department has been unable to implement these rates on the timeline previously communicated. The Department now anticipates these rates will be implemented in early 2026, with a retroactive effective date of July 1, 2024.     

The Department will send additional notice when we make updates to the Health PAS Online Portal billing system and implement rates. We will provide adjustment billing guidance and update all affected fee schedules found on the Rate Setting webpage of the Health PAS Online Portal. Rulemaking will follow the implementation of these final rates.
