Home and Community Based Service (HCBS) Providers of Clinical, Therapy, Care Coordination, Supportive Skills Building, Assistive Technology & Personal Support Services: Draft Rate Public Review and Comment
In June of 2024, the Department initiated a rate determination process for certain HCBS under policy sections 12, 18, 19, 20, 21, 29, 40, 96, and 102. This rate determination included a public kickoff, several engagement sessions, and a survey to obtain information, including but not limited to, program costs and service utilization from providers and interested parties.
The information obtained throughout this rate determination process was used to develop recommended draft rates. This message outlines the next steps in the process.
PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT
In February 2025, MaineCare with its vendor, Public Consulting Group (PCG), will host three public forums via Zoom. These forums will be used to present the recommended draft rates and models in addition to rationale for the recommendations. The rates and models will then be posted online, and the Department will accept written comments. The Department will then respond in writing to the comments with an explanation of whether and how the feedback was incorporated into the final rate determination.
The Department encourages providers and interested parties to participate in the forums and to provide feedback about these important changes.
