Fiscal Year 2023, Swing Bed and Days Awaiting Placement Rate Updates

Effective July 1, 2022, we have recalculated the per diem swing bed rate and nursing facility days awaiting placement rate for State Fiscal Year 2023.     

Critical access hospitals can bill the new swing bed rate of $317.44 per day for dates of services July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.     

Nursing facilities can bill the new days awaiting placement rate of $114.31 per day for dates of service July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.     

Providers of swing bed services will need to adjust all claims for dates of service starting July 1, 2022, that were paid before October 1, 2022, when we updated the system. Providers of days awaiting placement services will need to adjust all claims for dates of service starting July 1, 2022, that were paid before January 11, 2023, when we updated the system. Providers have 120 days from the date of this notice to submit corrected adjustments; please focus on the older dates of service first.
