Final Draft Rates for Certain Medicare Covered Family Planning Services and Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARCs): Sections 14, 30, 31, 45, 90 & 103
The final rates and rate methodology are available on the Rate System Reform webpage. The Department anticipates implementation of the methodology and rates by early spring, with a retroactive effective date of July 1, 2024.
The Department will send additional noticing when we make updates to the Health PAS Online Portal billing system and implement rates. We will provide adjustment billing guidance and update all affected fee schedules found on the Rate Setting webpage of the Health PAS Online Portal. Rulemaking will follow the implementation of these final rates.
Background
New rates were developed as a result of the rate determination that was initiated in May of 2024. The Office of MaineCare Services held a public forum for interested parties on September 30, 2024, to present the draft rates along with rationale and to allow for public comment. Interested parties were encouraged to submit written comments through October 14, 2024. The Department did not receive any written comments.
