Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) Swing Bed and Nursing Facility (NF) Days Awaiting Placement (DAP) Rate Updates, CRs 134801, 134803

Effective July 1, 2025, the CAH swing bed and NF DAP rates are recalculated for State Fiscal Year 2026. You can view both related memos on the rate setting page of the Health PAS Online Portal. 

The following new rates are effective for services delivered on, or after, July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.

  • CAH swing bed rate is $401.68 per day
  • NF DAP rate is $126.77 per day

Adjustment Billing Guidance for Dates of Service July 1, 2025, Through September 23, 2025

  • Providers must adjust all claims that were billed and paid below the new rates within 120 days of this notice 
  • MaineCare will adjust claims that were billed and paid at or above the new rates
