Attention Section 45, Hospital Services Providers
Pursuant to PL 2023, ch. 206, An Act to Make Supplemental Appropriations and Allocations from the General Fund and Other Funds for the Expenditures of State Government and to Change Certain Provisions of the Law Necessary to the Proper Operations of State Government for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2023, the Department of Health and Human Services will be issuing special, one-time supplemental payments to privately owned and operated and non-state government owned (NSGO) Acute Care Non-Critical Access hospitals and Critical Access hospitals operating in the State of Maine to support their response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Payments will be issued with this week’s cycle on June 28, 2023.The date of receipt depends on individual provider’s payment format and bank arrangements. These payments will be indicated on any paper Remittance Advice as “OTHER”. For hospitals with the electronic 835, the invoice number should display with a prefix of “HCVSP”.
Each eligible hospital’s payment will be allocated proportional to their MaineCare payments from their base data year, the hospital fiscal year ending in calendar year 2016. This emergency supplemental payment will not be subject to cost settlement.
