Attention Providers: Network Interruption Resulting in Issues Processing MaineCare Pharmacy Claims
You may be aware that Optum Change Healthcare is experiencing a network interruption related to a cyber security issue. This is a national issue affecting Medicaid members in many states, including Maine. As a result, MaineCare is experiencing issues processing pharmacy claims.
MaineCare has now instructed pharmacies that they can give MaineCare members a 3-day supply of prescriptions during this time. Each pharmacy has internal procedures they follow, so Members should reach out to their pharmacist to find out about options for receiving prescriptions. We are also communicating this directly to members. MaineCare members with questions may call our Pharmacy Help Desk at 1-866-796-2463. They may experience delays due to call volume.
We are working to determine a timeline for resolving these issues and will return to normal business as soon as possible.
