Attention Primary Care Plus (PCPlus) Practices: PCPlus Application and Recertification to Open in April
MaineCare Services is excited to notify you that in April, the PCPlus application will open for new and recertifying primary care practice applicants. During the open application period, primary care practices that are not currently participating in PCPlus will have an opportunity to apply to participate. MaineCare will send another notification once the application for PCPlus is open.
Recertification is required for all current PCPlus practices whether or not the practice believes their tier level is changing. PCPlus recertification is also an opportunity for practices to change tiers based on changes to the practice characteristics.
As a reminder, PCPlus is a MaineCare primary care model that gives primary care practices greater flexibility and incentives to meet MaineCare members’ healthcare needs by transitioning away from a volume-based (fee-for-service) payment system toward population-based payments tied to cost and quality-related outcomes. Participation in PCPlus is voluntary and primary care practices must apply to participate.
