Attention Section 45, Hospital Services Providers
Pursuant to PL 2021, ch. 635, An Act To Make Supplemental Appropriations and Allocations for the Expenditures of State Government, General Fund and Other Funds and To Change Certain Provisions of the Law Necessary to the Proper Operations of State Government for the Fiscal Years Ending June 30, 2022 and June 30, 2023, the Department of Health and Human Services will be issuing special, one-time supplemental payments to Acute Care non-Critical Access and Critical Access Hospitals in Maine to support their response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Payments will be issued with this week’s cycle on October 19, 2022. The date of receipt depends on individual provider’s payment format and bank arrangements. These payments will be indicated on the Remittance Advices as “OTHER.”
Each eligible hospital’s payment will be allocated proportional to their MaineCare payments from their base data year, the hospital fiscal year ending in calendar year 2016. This emergency supplemental payment will not be subject to cost settlement.
Please note that we will be requesting approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for this supplemental payment.
