Manufactured Housing Dealer
"Dealer" means a person licensed by the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation engaged in the retail selling or offering for sale, brokering or distribution of manufactured homes, primarily to a person who, in good faith, purchases these homes for purposes other than resale.
Pursuant to 10 M.R.S.A. §9021(1-A), the Manufactured Housing Board is required to provide initial training in the servicing and installation of manufactured housing to all licensees and applicants for licensure beginning July 1, 2000. Therefore, in order to obtain a license, it is mandatory to attend initial training prior to a license being issued.

Requirements
- Completed Application;
- A State of Maine Sales Tax Number. To obtain a sales tax number, you may contact the Maine Revenue Services at (207) 624-9693;
- If the applicant is not and individual, a certificate of good standing from the Secretary of State where the applicant is registered;
- If the applicant is a foreign entity, documentation of registration with the Maine Secretary of State Corporation Division. You may contact the Corporation Division by telephone at (207) 624-7752 for existing entities, and (207) 624-7740 for new entities;
- If the applicant is an out-of-state entity, a duly-executed power of attorney appointing the Executive Director as its agent for service of process in this State;
- Proof of products/completed operations liability insurance for at least $1,000,000.00 and, where required, proof of workers' compensation insurance. Liability policy and workers' compensation insurance must include mandatory notice of cancellation to the Manufactured Housing Board;
- Evidence of completion of Qualifying (initial) Education Training Program;
- If the applicant is an individual, payment of the $21.00 criminal background check fee. Make check payable to the Treasurer, State of Maine; and
- Credit Card Application, if authorizing payment of license fee(s).

The Department must verify that you have met all the conditions for renewal before your license is renewed. Online submission of your renewal application should not be construed as automatic renewal of your license.
Requirements
- Completed Application;
- Credit Card authorization of payment of renewal fee(s);
- A late fee of $50.00 is assessed for licenses renewed after the June 30 license expiration date; and
- Completion of criminal conviction question by indicating yes or no, and submission of documentation that lists date(s) and crime(s) and submit a copy of the court judgment(s). If your answer is "Yes" you cannot file your renewal application electronically. You must mail the completed renewal application and the necessary fees along with a copy of the court judgment. You must also submit a letter listing the date of the conviction, the crime committed, and explaining the circumstances surrounding the conviction;
- A person who submits an application for renewal more than 90 days after the June 30 license expiration date is subject to all requirements governing new applicants and is required to reapply with original license application, documentation and fees.
Manufactured Housing Developer Dealer
"Developer Dealer" means a person who purchases state-certified manufactured housing from a licensed manufacturer or dealer for placement on property owned by the developer dealer and who offers the manufactured housing for sale to the initial purchaser of the manufactured housing. The developer dealer may not install such manufactured housing but may contract with the manufacturer or dealer for the installation of such manufactured housing.

Manufactured Housing Manufacturer
A manufacturer licensed by the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation engaged in manufacturing or producing manufactured housing and then selling it to a dealer.

- For initial licensure as a manufacturer, the applicant shall submit their installation manual to be maintained on file at the Office. Subsequent change in the installation manual shall be submitted with the application for license renewal;
- Credit Card Application, if authorizing payment of license fee(s); and
- If the applicant is an individual, payment of the criminal background check fee. Make check payable to Treasurer, State of Maine.
