State Police say a sworn member of the department has tested positive for COVID-19. The member's duty included work at the Maine Turnpike Weigh Station in York, along the northbound lanes. The name of the person is not being released, but he and his family are doing very well and in good spirits. Upon receiving notice Saturday morning, the weigh station was immediately closed and has undergone a thorough cleaning by experts in the mitigation of COVID-19 and was expected to reopen by the end of today.
State Police have received recent reports of motorists with out of states plates being confronted and harassed, and advise Maine residents that if they have concerns about this issue to contact local or State Police.

Troop D weekly activities for time March 23rd to March 29th, 2020
On 3/26/2020 Cpl. Pelletier and Tr. Nunez responded to a domestic disturbance at 6 Glidden Ln. in West Gardiner. Brianna Martin (28) reported that her ex-boyfriend Alan Wotton (29) assaulted her. Wotton fled, and a temporary warrant for DV Assault was entered into NCIC.
On 3/26/2020 Tr. Bureau stopped Kyle Evans (35) for speeding 85 mph in a posted 45 mph speed zone on Route 1 in Belfast. Evans was summonsed and released for exceeding the speed limit by 30 mph or more.
