Troop F Weekly Report 06-21 to 06-27-21

Trooper:                   TR. RIDER

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Rider was conducting traffic enforcement and was driving through Caribou.  He observed a vehicle without a valid inspection certificate and conducted a traffic stop.  An investigation determined the driver and registered owner had a suspended driver’s license.  The man was issued a criminal summons for OAS and a warning for the inspection violation.  The car was left in a parking lot and the owner was going to arrange to have it moved.

Trooper:                   TR. CASTONGUAY

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Castonguay was at the Sherman Irving and observed a man drive into the parking lot.  He recognized the man from previous interactions and knew he had an open warrant for his arrest.  Tr. Castonguay arrested the man without incident and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Rider was conducting traffic enforcement and was driving through Caribou.  He observed a vehicle with expired registration and conducted a traffic stop.  An investigation determined the driver and registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license.  The man was issued a criminal summons for OAS and issued a warning for the expired registration.  His vehicle was towed from the roadway.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Desrosier is currently investigating the theft of a camper in Stockholm.  A family member of the camper’s owner went to the woods lot where the unit was set and found it missing.  Tr. Desrosier is actively working the investigation.

Town:                        oakfield

Trooper:                   TR. CASTONGUAY

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Castonguay was in Oakfield and observed a man he knew the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department was looking for reference a burglary at the Oakfield Railroad Museum.  Tr. Castonguay kept an eye on the man, who is known to run from law enforcement, until the Deputy arrived.  The man was arrested without incident and transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.  Property from the crime was recovered and returned.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Martin stopped a speeding vehicle on Route 11 in Wallagrass.  While conducting his roadside investigation, he determined that the registration plates had been taken off another vehicle that the operator owned and illegally placed on the one he was currently operating.  The local man was cited for his speed, false attachments of registration plates, and not providing evidence of insurance.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Martin investigated a violation of a protection order in St. John. The protected party in the order reported a violation had occurred when she saw the defendant in the order outside her home speaking with her boyfriend.  The local man was located and admitted to being on the property, apparently feeling he was allowed there as long as he did not have contact with the protected party.  Tr. Martin explained the conditions of the order and charged the man with violating the protection order.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Martin stopped a vehicle in St. Francis for a traffic infraction.  While conducting his roadside investigation, he determined that the operator had illegally attached registration plates to the vehicle he was driving.  The man was cited for False Attachment of Registration Plates.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Levesque responded to several K-9 calls with K-9 Rocco in his first week back after graduating from K-9 school.  They conducted a track in Caswell for a respondent who fled on foot in an assist to the Sheriff’s Office.  K-9 Rocco was also deployed twice in Littleton on an arson call in an assist to the Fire Marshals Office.

Brief Synopsis:       Sgt. Haines spent 6/21/2021 through 6/24/2021 as a firearms instructor at the Houlton Range for the Maine Forest Service.

Trooper:                   tr. sylvia

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Sylvia responded to a theft complaint at the Sherman Irving after they called to report a female had come into the store two times during the evening and stole items.  They believed the woman was staying at the motel next door.  Tr. Sylvia located the 25-year old Pleasant Point woman at the motel and charged her with Theft.

Brief Synopsis:       Cpl. Casavant took a theft report reference a stolen dirt bike.  The caller advised he believes the dirt bike was stolen sometime during the night.  The dirt bike was entered into NCIC and the investigation is ongoing.
