SEL4ME Web-Based Lessons

Welcome to SEL4ME!

The Maine Department of Education is excited to share a free to use, comprehensive, CASEL aligned and trauma informed, PreK-12th grade SEL curriculum.

What is SEL4ME?

Owned by the Maine Department of Education and designed to the unique needs of our State, SEL4ME has been constructed by professionals with 50+ years of experience in education, student/parent engagement and staff/administrator professional development. These expert-developed lessons are aligned with industry established best practices, are leveraged through an Equity lens and include over 450 modules that cover PreK-12 scaffolded by grade.

This curriculum will continue to grow!

What we have here is only the beginning! The SEL4ME Team, consisting of diverse Maine experts and stakeholders, will continue to edit, add and develop new SEL content and will expand from classroom supports to include school and district wide curriculum in the use of SEL as a Primary Prevention and Trauma Informed practice.

Maine and Social Emotional Learning for Student Success

Early on, Mainers understood that students who have SEL incorporated into their learning develop skills for self confidence, perseverance and academic success as well as becoming positive members in their communities. From health education and school counseling programs, to pioneering individual educators and even whole schools, there is a strong history of Social Emotional Learning in our state. The SEL4ME curriculum honors our history and is not a requirement but an additional support for all existing programs while also being a reliable and foundational way to provide accessible resources that will enable new SEL programs to be created across our State.
