Section 92, Behavioral Health Homes (BHH): Implementation of Cost-of-Living Adjustments (COLAs) Effective December 21, 2023, CR 125416

As previously noticed on December 1, 2023, MaineCare is increasing reimbursement for Section 92 BHH services through a 2.54% COLA. The implementation of this COLA had been “pending approval of appropriations.”

With the adjournment of legislature on May 10, 2024, the funding for this COLA was approved. After a 90-day waiting period, these COLA funds will be made available to the Department for adjustment billing purposes on August 9, 2024, effective retroactively to December 21, 2023.

The updated rates will be posted shortly to the Rate Setting page of the Health PAS online portal.

Billing Guidance:

We are working to create a methodology for COLA adjustments from December 21, 2023, to current. As a reminder, this is a per member per month, non-claims payment.  More information will be provided directly to BHH enrolled providers via e-mail once we have an update.
