Reminder: Primary Care Plus (PCPlus) Orientation Events

PCPlus is MaineCare’s new value-based approach to support the primary care system, improve healthcare quality, and reduce inefficient health care spending. PCPlus gives primary care providers greater flexibility and incentives to meet MaineCare members’ healthcare needs.  

Over 230 primary care practices are expected to participate in PCPlus starting July 1, 2022. Participation includes: 

• Taking accountability for a defined patient population 
• Focusing on coordination and integration of primary and behavioral health care 
• Building bridges to community resources 
• Meeting standards of care for preventive services and screenings 
• Using data to inform patient panel and performance management 
• Working collaboratively with families, MaineCare members and DHHS to improve service delivery 

During the month of July, MaineCare will be offering a suite of orientation activities to welcome primary care practices to this model. The table below outlines these events, intended audiences, and key concepts covered. Attendance is highly recommended for participating PCPlus practices. A recording will be available for those that are not able to attend. These events are also open to the public and any interested stakeholders.
