Rate Determination Initiation Notice for Section 80, Pharmacy Services : Dispensing Fees

The Department has initiated a Rate Determination Process for Dispensing Fees under Section 80 of the MaineCare Benefits Manual.* Maine, along with several other New England states (CT, VT, NH, RI), are participating in an initiative through New England States Consortium Systems Organization (NESCSO) to develop a reimbursement methodology for pharmacy dispensing fees. NESCSO is a non-profit organization governed by the New England State Health and Human Services agencies and the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Next week, Meyers & Stauffer, a vendor NESCO contracted with, will mail a survey to Maine pharmacies through the U.S. Postal Service.

There will be opportunities throughout the Rate Determination process for interested parties and members of the public to provide feedback and comments. You may track all of our Rate Reform work on the MaineCare Rate System Reform webpage.

For questions, please contact Amanda Lee, MaineCare’s Rate Setting Coordinator.
