Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) Swing Bed and Nursing Facility (NF) Days Awaiting Placement (DAP) Rate Updates, CR 125823

Effective July 1, 2024, the Critical Access Hospital (CAH) swing bed rate and Nursing Facility (NF) days awaiting placement (DAP) rates have been recalculated for State Fiscal Year 2025. You can view both related memos on the rate setting page of the Health PAS online portal. 

Providers can bill the following new rates for services delivered on or after July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.

• The new CAH swing bed rate of $355.00 per day
• The new NF days waiting placement (DAP) rate of $130.65 per day

To receive the updated rate for paid claims with dates of service July 1, 2024, or after, that were submitted prior to the implementation of July 31, 2024: 

• Providers must adjust all claims that were billed and paid below the new rates.  

• MaineCare will adjust claims that were billed and paid at or above the new rates.
