Attention Section 28 Providers: Update on Type 92 Early Childhood Provider Certification Letters, CR 71822

MaineCare now requires accurate certification information for Type 92 providers prior to approval for that provider type. The certification consists of an approval letter from the Maine Department of Education that indicates the approval period. Certification dates in the providers enrollment case should match the certification end-date to prevent claims from being approved for payment if the certification is not valid. Please see the previous e-message regarding this change.  

It is strongly recommended that providers perform a maintenance case to: 

• Ensure the dates are correct, 

• Enter DOE in the Certification License field, and 

• Upload a copy of the DOE letter. 

Providers are allowed a 60-day grace period to complete a maintenance case to add this approval, making this change effective on August 31, 2022. After 60 days, the providers contract will be end-dated if they have not submitted their certification.
