EBT Vendor Transition and Temporary System Outage Planned: July 26–27

The Department will be transitioning to a new EBT card vendor, Fidelity Information Services (FIS), over the weekend of July 26–27. As part of this transition, there will be a planned EBT system outage from 11:00 PM on Saturday, July 26 through 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 27. During this time, EBT cards will not be usable for SNAP food purchases or cash transactions. All SNAP retailers across Maine have been informed of the upcoming vendor change and system downtime. After the outage, clients will continue to use their EBT cards as usual, with no major changes to their experience.

What is staying the same?

  • EBT card and PIN will remain the same.
  • Date of issuance and renewal date will remain the same.
  • The EBT card service phone number will remain the same.

What is changing?

  • New deposit time: Benefits will be deposited a little later, at 5:00AM instead of 12:01AM, on the date of issuance.
  • New technology: The FIS system has an app and a website to help manage your account. The app is new, and the website will look different. The website (pinetreecard.com) will automatically bring you to the FIS site. If you have used pinetreecard.com or other apps, you will need to re-register your card.

The Department’s goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible and to ensure that clients are informed and prepared for the outage. For more information please contact the Office of Family Independence (OFI) at 1-855-797-4357
