We are following up on the notice we sent yesterday, February 22, 2024, about technical issues affecting prescriptions. This is a national issue affecting Medicaid members in many states.
MaineCare has now told pharmacies that they can provide MaineCare members a 3-day supply of any prescriptions you are trying to fill during this time. Please reach out to your pharmacist to ask them about options for receiving your prescription.
If the pharmacy asks you to pay cash for your prescription, and your prescription is covered by MaineCare, the pharmacy has a process to refund your money after this issue is resolved. Keep your receipt and speak with your pharmacy about their process for refunding eligible prescriptions.
If the pharmacy asks you to pay for your prescription and you are unable to, please call our Pharmacy Help Desk at 1-866-796-2463. You may also call our Pharmacy Help Desk if you have questions. Please be aware that you may experience delays due to call volume.
MaineCare continues to work to determine how long this technical issue will last and will return to normal business as soon as possible.
