Q: How much does the Emergency Medical Services plate cost?
A: In addition to the annual registration fees, a one-time fee of $5.00 when initially obtaining the plates. No additional fee is charged for subsequent renewals.
The plates will be issued in a unique numbering sequence, beginning with 101-AZA through 999-AZY. Low digit plates and out-of-rotation plates are not available.
Vanity plates are available in the Emergency Medical Services plate series with a maximum of six characters, plus one space or dash in the sequence. The fee is an additional $25.00 above the registration fee.
Emergency Medical Services vanity plates cannot duplicate vanity plates in any another class of plate. You may search and order a vanity plate online.
Q: Where can the Emergency Medical Services plates be purchased?
A: These plates may be purchased at all Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicle Branch Offices. The plates are not available in your town office. The plates may also be purchased by mailing a copy of your registration, a completed Emergency Medical Services Plates Application (MVR-17), and a check for $5.00 made payable to the Secretary of State to: Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Specialty Plate Clerk, 29 State House Station, Augusta, Maine 04333.
