Interested in receiving HOM stickers?  Follow this link to request stickers

By participating in the Maine Harvest of the Month program, schools are pledging for the school year to:

  • Serve the local HOM product at least 2x per month (local = Maine grown or caught)
  • Display HOM materials provided by the Department of Education's Child Nutrition team

In addition, schools are encouraged to:

  • Conduct educational activities, including taste testing or incorporating HOM into classroom curriculum. (There are many resources on the HOM Resources page)
  • Send monthly updates (photos and stories, which may be featured in our newsletters, website, social media)

In return, the DOE Maine Harvest of the Month team pledges to provide participating schools with:

  • Printed marketing materials (IE: posters, recipe cards, stickers)
  • Program training and ongoing technical support, as needed
  • A monthly newsletter
  • Recognition in participating in HOM

Are you offering meals over the summer? July and August are the easiest months to source locally in Maine, as fields and greenhouses become full with delicious varieties of food! Pledge to participate in Harvest of the Month (HOM) over the summer! Complete the questions below to receive your HOM toolkit. 

A toolkit includes: 
- Beautiful promotional posters (11"x 17") 
- Tray posters (11"x 17")- for posting the day's meal options and HOM items!  
- Fact sheets w/recipes (8"x 11")
- Source cards (4"x 6")- to show which farm/producer your HOM item came from! 
- Stickers by request (2" stickers)
