The U.S. Department of Education Office of Career, Adult, and Technical Education makes grants available to support adult basic education and literacy activities. Funding requires various written reports identifying progress or end-of-year performance.
State-Funded Grants and Programs
The Maine State Legislature funds grants for the Maine College Transition program and also provides State Subsidies to support adult basic education, high school completion, and high school equivalency tests.
Policies and Procedures
Maine Adult Education routinely drafts and updates policies and procedures to offer guidance to directors, educators, and students to help create a high-quality learning experience. These policies and procedures are intended to improve the efficiency and cooperation among State, local and federal entities as the Maine Department of Education works to build and maintain Maine’s education resources.
