Chapter 1 – Certification Standards for Municipal Code Enforcement Officers and Third-Party Inspectors

The Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code (MUBEC) is a compilation of rules that govern the adoption, implementation and enforcement of national model codes and standards, as amended by the Technical Building Codes and Standards Board.  Below you will find links to the amendments along with links to the documents which they amend,

• Modifies the 2021 International Building Code (IBC)

Chapter 6 - MUBEC - Residential Building Code for One and Two-Family Dwellings in Maine

• Modifies the 2021 International Residential Code (IRC) 

Chapter 7 - MUBEC - Energy Code 

• Modifies the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) 

Chapter 8 - MUBEC - Mechanical Code 

• Modifies the 2021 International Mechanical Code (IMC)  

     The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standards: 

• 2019 ASHRAE 62.1 (Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality) 

• 2019 ASHRAE 62.2 (Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Low-Rise Residential Buildings) 

• OR the CSA-F326-M91 Canadian Standards Association Standard for Residential Mechanical Ventilation Systems (Alternative to ASHRAE 62.2) 

• 2019 ASHRAE 90.1 (Energy Standard for Buildings except Low-Rise Residential Buildings) editions without addenda. 

       American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)
