MEMA seeks to inprove the State's capacity at the local, county and state levels to respond to and recover from disasters through a variety of programs and initiatives.
- Adoption and support of the Natonal Incident Management System
- Training and Exercise programs which focus on building coordinated response and recovery capability at the local, county, regional and state levels
- Development and maintenance of a Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement
- Support of regional Emergency Management Response Teams (EMRTs)
- Maintenance and staffing of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC)
- Coordination with the State Emergency Response Team
- Coordination with FEMA, Region One for regional response and recovery planning
