Data by Place

State

On a statewide basis more information is available than for areas of the state. It provides a standard for comparison when examining smaller areas.

County

County data provides local market context. Most people commute to work in a different community from where they live, so it usually is better to look at a surrounding area than at a single community. Less data is published for counties than for the state as whole.

City or Town

Town or city data generally provides less detail than for the state or counties.

Metropolitan Area

A wide range of data is published for the state’s three metro areas – more than for towns or counties.

Workforce Region

The state is divided into three federally recognized workforce investment areas. They are geographically large, so they do not reflect local labor market conditions, but rather general regional patterns.
