Assessment security is essential to obtain reliable and valid assessment data to inform decision-making and to support Maine schools. Accordingly, the Maine Department of Education takes necessary steps to assure the security and confidentiality of the state assessment materials. District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) and School Assessment Coordinators should provide appropriate training for all personnel involved in assessment to ensure a common understanding of security and appropriate assessment practices.
The 2024-2025 Maine Educational Assessment Security Handbook provides general expectations of the Maine DOE for the administration of statewide assessments.
